Estrogen Toxicity in Men and Women
Estrogen Toxicity in Men and Women
Over the past few years, we've worked at RAW Forest Foods to inform and help combat low levels of testosterone due to high levels of estrogen. This is a major health concern facing men and women alike, with health consequences that are far reaching, many of which we just assume should come with old age.
However, increasing levels of testosterone is only half the picture.
More and more so every day, our environment is becoming saturated with estrogen-like pollutants. These come from a myriad of sources, from our drinking water (which is polluted with plastics, agri-chemicals, and waste pharmaceutical drugs), to the foods we eat, and many of our body and bath products and even products in our home. These estrogen-like pollutants, called both xeno-estrogen and phyto-estrogen, affect our body in a similar way as estrogen that is produced in the body, and is stored in our fat tissue, where it continues to wreak havoc on our endocrine systems and our health. On its own, the body has a very, very hard time detoxing estrogen--removing it safely from the body.
Both conventional and alternative medicine is starting to better understand how harmful estrogen pollution (high levels of estrogen) is to health.
A few of the common complaints due to high levels of estrogen in men and women include:
Men:
- Low sex drive;
- Increased weight and increased fat in the middle of the body;
- Depression, fatigue, and low energy;
- Poor stress responses (like eating and substance abuse);
- Loss of body hair;
- Loss of muscle tone;
- Shrinking testes;
- Erectile dysfunction;
- Fertility issues;
- Prostate enlargement and prostate cancer;
- Memory loss and poor concentration accompanied by low self esteem.
Women:
- Breast tenderness;
- Depression, fatigue, poor concentration;
- Endometriosis;
- Fibrocystic Breast;
- PMS;
- Fibroids;
- Water retention and bloating;
- Fat gain around hips and thighs;
- Breast and Uterine Cancer.
Three approaches must be taken to combat excess estrogen. Firstly, estrogen must be detoxified from the body (look at our Estrogen Detox). Secondly, in men and women, testosterone must be increased. There is a wealth of information on this at RAW Forest Foods. Lastly, and for continued success and recovery, outside sources of estrogen exposure must be eliminated.
If you have any questions on this, please leave a comment and we'll answer it all.
