The Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Actions of Pine Pollen

A new report titled Antioxidant and Antiinflammatory Activity of Pine Pollen Extract In Vitro, published by Phytotherapy Research, further establishes the already known medical uses of pine pollen as an important herbal medicine and herbal supplement.

Written about in Apitherapy News, the report proves the strong free radical scavenging (antioxidant) properties of Pine Pollen Extract. Free radical scavenging is one of the many mechanisms in pine pollen that makes it a strong anti-aging force. The report also shows its anti-inflammatory effects. Many of the common diseases today are caused in part by inflammation, including GI disorders, and almost all degenerative and "diseases of aging" are part of an exacerbating loop of inflammation in the body. Halting and eliminating is one of the most important steps a person can take in promoting their health and wellbeing.

Furthermore, in the the same report, pine pollen extract was shown to have anti-tumor properties.

It is great to see Pine Pollen being established in academic journals, because it is truly an impressive phyto-nutrient, and I hope that its acceptance will help bring it to more people.

Phytotherapy Research Pine Pollen

The above referenced article was published on December 23, 2008. Since that time, we are proud to have developed a Pine Pollen extract based partly on the above study. Our Pine Pollen Extract is a powdered hot water extract of our Mountain Harvest Pine Pollen, extracted to a 10:1 (a ten times) concentration--this extract is in addition to our professional grade Pine Pollen Tincture.
