Twelve Rivers MycoMedic Elixir

Twelve Rivers MycoMedic Elixir

Nourishing and Tonifying the Twelve Rivers

Medicinal mushrooms, also known as medicinal fungi, are one of the most important categories of natural medicine, and allopathic medicine is just beginning to recognize their potential. Fungi share more DNA with humans than plants do, and it's no surprise that the mysterious world of mushrooms holds such wisdom and potential for wellness. Indigenous cultures have long known about and utilized the healing properties of mushrooms, and now post-industrial societies are finally catching up.

Twelve Channels is our most advanced medicinal fungi formula, combining our extensive knowledge of medicinal mushrooms into one product to provide our customers with a game-changing single mushroom formula.

Crafting a Sum Greater Than its Parts

At RAW Forest Foods, we take our formulas seriously, working with experts in the field to develop our products with your needs in mind. We create these products for you.

Twelve Rivers features a unique combination of eight medicinal mushrooms, each with its own therapeutic benefits. By combining these mushrooms synergistically, we've created a formula that works deeply to restore the immune system, fight infections, promote proper cell replication (aiding in reducing DNA and RNA mutations), and enhance libido, sexual functioning, and reproductive health. *

Additionally, Twelve Rivers MycoMedia contains mushrooms that have a reputation for promoting mental clarity, peacefulness, and even a sense of spirituality.

The Mushrooms

  • Chaga (Inonotus obliquus)
  • Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris)
  • Fu Shen (Poria cocos)
  • Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)
  • Maitake (Grifola frondosa; Hen-of-the-Woods)
  • Royal Sun Agaricus (Agaricus blazei Murill; Royal Sun Blazei)
  • Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor);
  • Willow Bracket (Phellinus igniarius; Mesima).

Although all of the medicinal fungi we have included in this formula enhance the immune system and have broad, holistic benefits, each one has its own unique benefits that add value and balance to the formula. For example, Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) offers potential immune system benefits, but it also singularly stokes and refines the fire of the Kidney, providing sexual rejuvenation, anti-aging, and athletic gains.

Furthermore, Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), Willow Bracket (Phellinus igniarius), Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor), and Royal Sun Agaricus (Agaricus blazei murill) all offer immune benefits and are also hepatoprotective, meaning they benefit and protect the liver. Additionally, Reishi and Fu Shen (Poria cocos) are known to promote energized tranquilization.

Mushrooms work with the body rather than against it, offering potent benefits while operating as medicinals in a safe and moderate manner that doesn't overburden the body or its organs. The Twelve Rivers formula achieves and reinforces the benefits of each included medicinal mushroom, resulting in a sum greater than its parts, in pure alchemical tradition. Our customers have been asking for a medicinal fungi formula, and we are excited to offer them our Twelve Rivers formula.

The Extracts

The Twelve Rivers MycoMedic Elixir formula is available in two forms: as an extract powder and as a tincture. The extract powder is standardized to contain 30% polysaccharide and is made using dual-stage extraction process. The tincture, on the other hand, is a dual-stage, 1:2 extraction tincture. Both forms use fruiting body mushrooms sourced mainly from organically cultivated and ecologically wild-crafted sources.

The Formula

Corcyceps (Cordyceps militaris)

Cordyceps, also known as Cordyceps militaris, is used to strengthen and regulate the immune system. Unlike Echinacea, it is not an immune-stimulator. Cordyceps also nourishes Kidney Yang and Essence, which translates to improved libido and sexual functioning. As a result, Cordyceps are immensely popular with athletes.

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)

Reishi, also known as Lingzhi in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is one of the most well-known and important medicinal fungi. It has been used in China since classical times, found in the tombs of ancient Egypt, and referenced in the written works of Greece. Today, Reishi is studied extensively and has been proven to have restorative effects on the immune system. It also promotes healthy red blood cell formation in the bone marrow and is used in hospitals as an adjunct cancer therapy. Additionally, Reishi is known for its ability to increase the Shen, the spiritual connection and awareness.

Fu Shen (Wolfiporia extensa; Poria cocos)

Poria cocos, also known as Fu Shen in Chinese Medicine and as Hoelen, is a truffle-like fungi that grows on the roots of pine trees, particularly Pinus massoniana (which is where our Pine Pollen is harvested from).

Poria cocos is one of the eight original treasures of Chinese herbalism and is used to invigorate the spleen, promote tranquilization, clear dampness, and assist in healthy urination in those with scanty flow. Traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine use it for its diuretic, sedative, and tonic effects. Various studies of this fungus have demonstrated its marked anti-inflammatory activity in different experimental models of acute and chronic inflammation, potentiating the immune response. Additionally, they have shown antitumor activity. *

Willow Bracket (Phellinus igniarius)

This mushroom is known to the indigenous people of New England as the Willow Bracket. It is used to detoxify and protect the liver due to its antioxidant and free radical scavenging abilities. Research indicates potential benefits as a potent antibacterial and anticancer agent, and it may provide support against Lyme Disease (Borrelia burgdorferi). The mushroom has been traditionally used throughout China and by indigenous people of Alaska for gastrointestinal complaints and to cleanse the lymphatic system.

Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor)

Trametes versicolor, also known as Turkey Tail or Cloud Mushroom, is one of our favorite medicinal mushrooms here at RAW Forest Foods. It has been extensively studied for its ability to intelligently activate the immune system, benefiting those with both underactive and hyperactive immune systems, including natural killer (NK) cells, T cells, and phagocytes. Additionally, research indicates Trametes versicolor to have anti-tumor and anti-cancer benefits. *

Mitake; Hen-of-the-Woods (Grifola frondosa)

Grifola frondosa, commonly known as both hen-of-the-woods and maitake, is a mushroom that is researched and used for its ability to activate and modulate the body's immune cells, including natural killer (NK) cells, T cells, and phagocytes. It has also been shown to have anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties.

Grifola frondosa may be promising for those seeking to control or lose weight, to lessen some of the side effects of chemotherapy, as an adjunct therapy for HIV/AIDS, and to provide support for those with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), hepatitis, hay fever, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and infertility due to polycystic ovary syndrome. *

Royal Sun Agaricus (Agaricus blazei Murill; Royal Sun Blazei)

Agaricus blazei murill, also known as Almond Mushroom, Mushroom of the Sun, God's Mushroom, Mushroom of Life, Royal Sun Agaricus, Princess Matsutake, and by other names, is a choice medicinal and edible mushroom with a sweet flavor and scent of almonds. It has traditionally been used to treat a range of diseases, including cancer and chronic hepatitis. Current scientific research has focused on its strong immunomodulating properties, making it a potential treatment for infections and cancer. *

Chaga (Inonotus obliquus)

Chaga is parasitic fungus that grows on birch trees and has traditionally been used as a medicinal fungi in many Baltic countries, Poland, Russia, and Siberia. It has been used for cleansing and disinfecting purposes, as well as for treating stomach diseases, intestinal worms, liver and heart ailments, and cancer. *

In laboratory studies, Chaga extract has shown promise as a potential adjunct treatment for cancer, as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and for immunotherapy. In a Russian study, Chaga demonstrated its ability to neutralize autoimmune diseases. Many research papers have been published regarding the antibacterial, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, and antioxidant activities of Chaga. *
